Frequently Asked Questions

We are a boutique advisory team helping South African families and entrepreneurs secure Cyprus property and residency with confidence.

On the South African side, your main contact points are Freddie Terblanche from Terblanche Law Office in Cape Town and Adriaan van den Berg ex-lawyer living in Warsaw, who understand the realities of life and business in South Africa.

We work in close cooperation with Protrust Real Estate in Warsaw, who specialise in vetted Cyprus developers and coordinate with experienced Cypriot lawyers and service providers. Together, we create a seamless bridge between South Africa → Poland → Cyprus so you don’t have to navigate the system alone.

Because this is not just about buying an apartment — it’s about designing a Plan B that actually works for a South African family.

We understand South African context: currency risk, exchange control, SARS, schooling, safety and succession.

Protrust and their Cyprus partners provide local, on-the-ground verification of projects and developers.

You benefit from a joined-up process: property, residence and basic structuring considerations discussed from day one.

You do not pay buyer’s commission to us on the property. Our compensation typically comes from the developer side, and any separate advisory work is clearly agreed upfront.

The core idea is simple:

  • Invest in qualifying Cyprus property once, and unlock a long-term EU residency “Plan B” for your South African family.

For at least €300,000 + VAT in approved property, you can:

  • Secure a Mediterranean home in a safe EU country.
  • Obtain Cyprus Permanent Residence for you, your spouse and dependent children (up to a certain age under specific conditions).
  • Position your family for better education, healthcare and mobility in Europe.
  • Optionally, use Cyprus as an international business and investment hub with attractive tax rules.

Our job is to help you do this in a way that makes sense given your South African reality, not in a vacuum.

This solution is particularly suited to:

  • South African families who want a Plan B in Europe without emigrating overnight.
  • Business owners and professionals who can work remotely or partially from abroad.
  • Investors with or building offshore assets who want a more efficient tax and estate-planning base.
  • Parents who want their children to have EU study options and a long-term residency pathway.

If you simply want a cheap holiday home with no interest in residency, there are other options; our focus is on property + residency + long-term planning.

Exploration call (South Africa focus)

  • You speak with Freddie and/or Adriaan to clarify your goals, family situation, budget and timing.

High-level structuring view

  • We look at whether Cyprus PR and property realistically fit your South African tax, business and family situation and suggest what professional advice may be needed.

Property and PR options (with Protrust)

  • Together with Protrust and their Cyprus vetted Developers we present vetted projects that qualify for the Permanent Residence Program and match your budget and goals.

Legal & application preparation

  • Cyprus lawyers prepare the purchase contracts and PR application and help you understand which documents are needed from South Africa (proof of income, police clearances, etc.).

Investment, submission, approval

  • You make the required payments, your application is submitted and, once approved, you and your family receive Cyprus Permanent Residence cards.

No. We are advisers and coordinators, you will be working with local law firm and tax advisor in Cyprus.

In South Africa, you should always work with your own tax and legal advisers regarding SARS, tax residency, trusts and exchange control.

In Cyprus and the EU, all immigration, property and corporate legal work is carried out by qualified local lawyers that we introduce via Protrust.

Our role is to connect the dots: make sure the right professionals talk to each other, help you ask the right questions, and ensure the process stays practical and understandable.

There are no hidden buyer’s commissions.

For property, our fees are typically covered by the developer or local partners, so you pay the same or less than if you tried to negotiate alone.

If you ask us for separate planning or project work (for example, detailed scenario analysis or custom structuring support), we agree the scope and fee upfront in writing.

Transparency is non-negotiable for us: you will always know who is paid by whom and for what.
